Rebecca SenogluRebecca Senoglu has been exploring creative ways to offer death education in her small town of Chico, California for close to 20 years. Since 2003, she has been the Cancer Support Program Coordinator at Enloe Medical Center. As adjunct faculty at the Chaplaincy Institute, Berkeley, she taught about community ministry and creating meaningful memorials (2007-2016).
In 2009, she completed an extended unit of Clinical Pastoral Education at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento where she gained experience as a chaplain. In 2013, she completed the Final Passages Death Midwifery/Home Funeral Guide certification program with Jerrigrace Lyons. Rebecca and her friend Malama Macneil co-founded the Alliance for Support and Education in Dying and Death (AllSEDD) which offered “befriending death” programs for over 7 years and led Rebecca to host a community radio show called The Wheel: Considering the Mysteries of Living and Dying. Rebecca is an ordained minister, a certified home funeral guide, and a very active member of Chico Friends Meeting (Quakers). Thanks to her handsome husband, Kaz, she has a Turkish last name that is pronounced Shen-O-Loo. |
