​End-of-Life Doula Services

The time at end-of-life is as unique as any one individual life is unique.  End-of-life doulas bring with them knowledge and experience in companioning the dying person and family through the dying process. Doulas offer guidance, being mindful of individual belief systems, culture and family dynamics.

Personalized guidance may include:
  • Co-create an End-of-life Plan of care
  • Provide options to create a personalized After-death care plan
  • Conversations about being with someone who is dying
  • A compassionate presence, and vigil presence
  • Emotional and spirit guidance
  • Developing a caring circle community of support
  • Guided visualization or meditation for pain and anxiety relief
  • Assist families/community of friends in creating remembrance projects 
  • Create rituals that honor and recognize the uniqueness of the loved one
  • Develop a plan for community (friends and family) vigil
  • Processing grief
  • ​Education and guidance with Medical Aid in Dying (legal in CA) and VSED (More)
  • Education on after death care for the body to lie in state at home for 1-3 days for in- home funeral setting

​Optional Special Cleaning/Clearing services: 
We also provide cleaning/clearing services. Our team can come into the home for deep physical cleaning, sorting and reorganizing the home prior to lying in honor or after death. We may smudge, and hold  sacred ceremony to clear the air and assist in transition.
