Testimonials

April 2019 - Home Funeral
Your kindness, support & the sharing of your knowledge opened the door to other possibilities for [our] end-of-life experience. Thank you for being there at the right time. We both appreciated your ability to lend thoughts & ideas while still honoring our need for privacy. With love, D.S.

April 2019 - Doula Work
Thank you, Akhila, for making space for me in your heart. Thank you for helping me remember life's true purpose... love and light.  You were the one who got me started on my journey home, and you did it with compassion and understanding. Thank you for your strength and support and for believing in me to do my end-of-life work in this transitionary phase of life. You have gone beyond your name and made my life COMPLETE. -NJ

July 2018 - Response to our educational work: Akhila - ... you and Amanda and Nancy are so clearly honorable and uniquely capable human beings. This quiet revolution you are engaged in is powerful and important - to be bringing dying and death and the heart-wrenching after death back home where it belongs, where it has always been except more recently in our crazy corner of the world. As you wisely say ..., there are many ways, many paths, by which we can can each put to good use this excellent  [ death work]. I hope to find mine, to pay it forward. ---Thank you, B. W.

May 2018 Comment about our Death Positive events:  [I am] unbelievably appreciative of the conversations and teachings you are providing in our very lucky community. Bless you all for the fabulous work you are doing! Blessings, G. Dow - Grass Valley, CA

APRIL 2018. Instagram post from Sally Sheffield Peterson: Have you ever heard of a Death Doula? Or Death Midwife? I hadn’t... until our friend and landmate Barbara discovered this Collective of Amazing humans to help her in her own transition and dying process here at home. They spent about three weeks with her 24-7. I recommend knowing about them via the internet or in person if possible. Their website is a wealth of knowledge.

Their peace, calming nature, acceptance, and effervescent joy surrounding the process I experienced, of them in Barb’s passing, was one of the most eye opening, mind altering and healing processes I have ever witnessed.

MARCH 2018 - I am sure you know this by now but I must overstate the obvious, “You and your team of Angels are AWESOME!” My family and I have been twice blessed now by your total commitment to being of service to the healing properties of grief and for that you shall forever hold a special place in my heart. - L.B.

August 2016: A wisdom that can only be summoned at the times of Birth and Death. May we evoke a remembrance of these past experiences, with our inner workings and ancestors knowledge>>> rather than the fear we are programmed for.  I believe this sacred practice would arise naturally. We spend weeks, days, months and years caring for our loves>>> sometimes its a wink of a second that our favorite beings depart.  We cared for our matriarch goddess, part and parcel of our infinite First Mother. Her healing room confronted us all with the lessons that fear of death provide. This time gave us all the freedom to worship her transforming spirit >>> in AWE... with prayers, washing, dressing, tears, smiles, memories and so may wonderments that I have no significant words to describe. The nature of home funerals can even be witnessed at convalescent homes and hospitals. I have been seeking this knowledge for some time, and the gift of FULL CIRCLE LIVING AND DYING has gifted my life... NOW, and will serve my loves after my death. I am on my knees, thankful for the spirit souls that spearheaded this awakening in Nevada County !!!! --Amanda

October 2015 - "Thank you for all you're providing. This work is so important and I'm filled with gratitude for what you offer!" Marybeth Paul.

April 2015 - "Thank you all so much for your assistance with (our loved one's) transition. You helped make it into a real blessing. Rich, I really appreciate how present you were with me as I gathered information about doing an in-home funeral.... And when I called you to let you know the time was near, you and Akhila showed up at just the right time. Akhila, you were also very present and caring...explaining everything to (us) then guiding us along through the process of caring for his "earth-robe" - always so thoughtful, considerate and caring. Thank you! Thank you!" -G. Reed, Nevada City, CA

October 2013. "Thank you Rich, Nandi, Akhila, Amber... everyone who made bringing (our son) home those last few days possible. I cannot imagine having done it any other way... and i knew of no other way until this happened. The value, the importance, the meaning of having him with us for awhile I have no words to express... it meant, so very much. And has made all the difference. It is still hard, but I am grateful I had the time to spend with him, to touch him and talk, laugh and cry. He looked so very beautiful, as always"
Thank you." - Kara Asilanis,  Grass Valley, CA
