IN-HOME END-OF-LIFE DOULA SERVICES
Doulas come into the home and bring with them knowledge and experience in guiding the patient and family through the dying process. The time at end-of-life is as unique as any one individual life is unique.  Doulas offer guidance in ways that are suitable to individual belief systems, culture and family dynamics.
Doula Guidance may include:
  • Conversations on how the last days are to unfold when their loved one dies at home.
  • A compassionate presence, and vigil presence.
  • Energy work, emotional spirit guidance
  • Respite for caregivers.
  • Guided visualization or meditation for pain and anxiety control.
  • Assist families/community of friends in creating legacy projects.
  • Create rituals that honor and recognize the uniqueness of their loved one.
  • Develop a plan for community vigil.
  • Assist the family/community to reprocess the dying experience after the death.
  • May assist Death Care Midwife in Home Funeral
 Optional Special Cleaning/Clearing services:
We also provide cleaning/clearing services. Our team can come into the home for deep physical cleaning, sorting and reorganizing the home prior to lying in honor. We may smudge, and hold  sacred ceremony to clear the air and assist in transition.

Call upon us to assist in clearing the home after death.

Who We Are

A Collective of women and men who deeply know the sacredness of the end-of-life. We know that in general our communities have been deeply affected by past death experiences and want to learn a better way of doing death. We know that conversations about death are not easy. Perhaps these talks never happen at all, leaving most people uneducated on the options available in dying and after death care.  We know the confusion, fear, and exhaustion that comes with caring for a dying loved one. Our hearts are filled with the desire to be of service. We provide guidance and empower everyone to be involved in the preciousness of the dying process. Even if that involvement is just a little bit at first, we know it will grow. We know it will heal.

Our Training

Our Death Care Doulas and Midwives have received training from Final Passage Conscious Dying, Hospice of the Foothills volunteer training programs, DeathWalker training with Zenith Virago, additional training in 2016 International Death Doula Training with Doorway Into Light, and specialized doula instruction with INELDA, International End-of-LIfe Doula Association.
