Tibetan Death Talk

We are happy to present:
Guest speaker Terri Nash
Terri Nash, MS, CPM is an educator, storyteller, healer, and retired midwife who, between 1982-2017  attended  hundreds of homebirths and midwifed numerous individuals through their dying experience.  In 1984 she began extensive studies of Tibetan Medicine under tutelage of Yeshe Dondhen, physician to the Dalai Lama, and continues today working and studying with Dr.Yonten, a Tibetan doctor living in Bangalore, India.  Terri has grown in understanding about Tibetan's unique view of the interplay of living and dying. Their wisdom methods invite both the dying person and caretakers into an embodied experience of compassion in action.

In this talk, Terri will provide context for Tibetan Views on the dying process and discuss the signs of dissolution of the Elements in the body during the dying process. The dissolution of the elements is a critical phase of the dying process from the Tibetan view. The signs are external and internal. Both the dying person and the caregiver can become acquainted with these signs to deepen the wisdom of the experience. The talk will include a guided meditation focused on the dissolution of elements.
