FULL CIRCLE of LIVING and DYING:
Educating our community about home-based funerals
Bringing back the loving tradition of end-of-life and after-death care in the home.
Family/community-centered home-based funerals and after-death care is a form of home vigil for your loved one, much like a traditional wake. It is a sensitive and compassionate process where family and community members, children as well as elders, can be as involved as they want to be in caring for their loved one's body while honoring one's own traditions and spirituality. This form of family/community-centered home funeral is profoundly beautiful and healing and has the possibility of impacting everyone's attitude about death for generations to come. Our work includes education and support.
We offer guidance in care for a dying loved one, and oversee after-death care so your loved one may lie in honor at home (home vigil) for as long as needed, usually one to three days. We assist in coordinating options for burial, cremation, natural organic reduction, and other forms of disposition of the body.
Home death care allows time for friends, family and community to gather and process grief in a loving setting, honoring the death process in your own private environment.
ADVANCE PLANNING IS THE BEST WAY TO MAKE YOUR WISHES KNOWN.
Call for a step by step discussion and consultation with trained end-of-life doulas about what you want for your own death care, or care of a loved one. We also offer in-home individualized care plans for you and your loved ones to discuss options together - let's talk more! Call for a free phone consultation - (530)268-5652
