Linda More, Board Member

Picture
"Every minute of every hour of every day you are making the world, just as you are making yourself, and you might as well do it with generosity and kindness and style".
Rebecca Solnit

Linda passionately brings her broad professional and personal experience to our Full Circle family.
Growing up in Chicago, attending the University of Illinois, then completing nursing school at Cook County Hospital,  Linda embarked on her path of compassionate care. As an RN she initiated her nursing career in postpartum/maternal health and then entered the expanding field of Neonatal Intensive Care. Taking those skills with her as she moved to San Francisco,  she continued her work with premature and sick newborns. It was here that Linda first became involved with end of life care and issues, navigating the thin boundaries between birth, life, and death. Those experiences of neonatal difficulties and loss continue to inform and inspire Linda.

After moving to Grass Valley, Linda continued to expand her sphere of knowledge and expertise.  Continuing her nursing career, she worked in Sacramento and later at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. When her children began elementary school, Linda entered into a new journey in the field of education, starting with classroom volunteer work. She then earned her teaching credential and was a full-time elementary and middle school teacher in the Grass Valley School District until her retirement in 2016.

Linda then applied her nurturing skills of compassion, communication, deep listening, and a sense of community to supporting people and/or their loved ones as they approached and transitioned through the dying process. Through education and trainings at Hospice of the Foothills, attending events offered by Full Circle of Living and Dying, and much independent research, Linda deepened her knowledge of end of life issues. In 2019, Linda completed in-depth education and certification through Inspired Endings to  become an End-of-Life Doula. She currently is a Board Member of Full Circle of Living and Dying and a volunteer at Hospice of the Foothills. Linda is grateful for the meaningful experiences she has had with people in challenging, yet meaningful, situations.

Linda loves life fully, and is committed to looking honestly and openly at death as an important natural part of being human.
