Bonnie McKeegan, LCSW, Vice President board directorBonnie comes to us with years of experience as a social worker in mental health, clinical, and medical social work settings. She is a psychotherapist here in Grass Valley serving primarily Medicare clients. She has special interests in death and dying, grief and growth, as well as issues of older adulthood.
Death and Dying issues have been parts of Bonnie's personal and professional life as a social worker for years. Many of those experiences include supporting, educating and empowering individuals, families, and the community in end-of-life choices, planning, and post-death care. "As a professional, I am seeking a new opportunity as a volunteer in a non-profit organization. FCLD seems like a perfect fit in the evolution in my personal and professional growth process." Bonnie first became aware of Full Circle of Living and Dying a few years ago when a friend died from breast cancer and FCLD was there to support the family in post-death care. "As a result of that experience, I was able to confidently care for my mother’s body and manage our small home gathering after her death. FCLD gave me the information I needed to honor my mom in a loving way that I might not have known about otherwise. The educational events FCLD offers the community have be very helpful to me and by extension to other people in my social and professional circles." |
