Akhila Murphy Co-Founder, Death Care Midwife, End-of-Life Caregiver

Akhila graduated from Final Passages Death Care Midwife Training in 2014. As a Home Funeral Guide she has assisted families in creating family directed home funerals, and in after death care. She has been a hospice patient care volunteer and vigil coordinator since 2009. She has received Reiki Master teachings and finds Reiki can assist the spiritual process at end of life. Akhila continues to study and receive training in various forms of dying care including a P'howa Empowerment workshop with Chagdud Khadro. P'howa is the traditional Tibetan transference of consciousness at the time of dying. Also, she recently attended the International Death Doula Training in Maui and was a presenter at Final Passages Level 3 training in Calistoga, CA. Will be attending International End-of-life Doula training Nov. 2017.

Akhila is also founder of Dragonfly Yoga & Wellness in Penn Valley, CA . "I think my passion for the beauty and profound benefits of a sincere yoga practice helped direct me into the compassion of end-of-life care. I feel fortunate to be able to serve in healthy living skills and proper conscious dying. The process is unique for every individual."

Who We Are

We are trained Death-Care midwives, Death Doulas, arrangement counselors, Home Funeral Guides, conversation facilitators, educators, vigil guides, End-of-Life caregivers for the Dying, Grief Ritual Specialists, Cremains glass blowers, and individuals whose gift is guiding and educating the community about all topics of conscious dying, and after death care.
